Transportation and Parking Services has received several reports of fraudulent text messages claiming to be from ParkMobile. These texts claim that the recipient has “outstanding parking fees” and contain a phishing link that points to a fake payment page.
As stated on the ParkMobile website, “Parkmobile will never send private customers payment links or sensitive information via SMS. Instead, we always guide you in using the app. If you are ever uncertain of a text, delete it and do not tap any links.”
Transportation and Parking Services reminds everyone to be wary of any texts, emails, or messages requesting sensitive information and to familiarize themselves with the signs of phishing attempts.
