Due to construction on Sanford Drive, transportation services to Tate Center will be impacted beginning on May 11, 2026. During this time, Campus Transit will be operating on a reduced service schedule from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm.
The following detours/changes will be in effect:
A – Central East
A – Central East will detour via Lumpkin Street. Service to Tate Center – MLC and Tate Center – Memorial Hall, and the Physics bus stops will be suspended. Passengers should use Tate Center – Instructional Plaza and Rutherford Hall bus stops for service.
C – Campus Housing service to Lumpkin St. @ BLC will be suspended. Passengers should use the A or DN Lines to connect at Rutherford Hall.
DN – North South Night
DN – North South Night will detour via Lumpkin Street. Service to Tate Center – MLC and Tate Center – Memorial Hall, and the Physics bus stops will be suspended. Passengers should use Tate Center – Instructional Plaza and Rutherford Hall bus stops for service. Service will also be suspended to the North Deck. Passengers should use The Arch/Downtown bus stop for service to the Athens MMTC.
MN – Milledge Night
MN – Milledge Night will detour via Lumpkin Street. Service to Tate Center – MLC and Tate Center – Memorial Hall, and the Physics bus stops will be suspended. Passengers should use Tate Center – Instructional Plaza and Rutherford Hall bus stops for service.
E – East West Line Detour
In addition to the regular reduced service routes, Campus Transit will operate the E – East West line on detour to provide a supplemental connection from Central to North Campus.
This route will detour via Hooper Street to serve Tate Center – Instructional Plaza, then will travel via Lumpkin and Broad Streets to serve the Arch and the Main Library. The bus will return to East Campus via East Campus Road, resuming regular route at Tucker Hall.
This service will be operated from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.
Construction Timeline
Construction on Sanford Drive is expected to last approximately 5 weeks, and regular routes are expected to resume on June 4, 2026.
During this period, passengers should expect delays and may need to transfer routes to reach their final destination.
