The Bulldog Bike Share offers an easy way to travel around campus while avoiding traffic and reducing emissions from single-occupancy cars.

The GPS-enabled, electric pedal-assist bikes are located at hubs across campus and can be rented using the Lyft mobile app. Each bike features individual locks for safety and the ability to park at designated hubs listed in the Lyft app.

Riders can download the app from the Apple App Store and Google Play Store to register, locate, and unlock the bikes.

Please note that Bulldog Bike Share bicycles are not allowed on UGA bus bike racks.

A variety of pricing options are available through the Lyft app including:

  • $1 to unlock a bike + $0.25 per minute
  • Riders are charged per minute until a bike is returned to a hub and the ride is ended in the Lyft app

Safety

Safety is an important aspect of the Bulldog Bike Share program. Lyft and UGA advise wearing a helmet while riding. Riders can request a free helmet at the TPS Customer Relations Office located in the Tate Plaza.

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I rent a bike?

To initiate a rental, you’ll need to download the Lyft app and create an account. Once you’re all set up you can locate bikes within the app on our map.

Who should I contact if I have an issue?

The Lyft support team is always ready to help. You can contact us via our online contact form.

Should I ride the electric bikes on streets or sidewalks?

You should ride bikes on the street or in designated bike lanes. Be sure to adhere to all traffic laws and be mindful of vehicles, pedestrians, and cyclists around you.

When accessing sidewalks or crosswalks, bicyclists must walk with their bicycles in these spaces, as sidewalks and crosswalks are reserved for pedestrian use only, not for actively riding a bicycle.

Remember, bikes should never be left in front of doorways, walkways, or ADA-accessible areas like ramps.

Where should I park a bike when I’m done?

When you’re done with a bike, return it to a designated parking location and end your ride in the Lyft app.

There are more than 100 designated locations where you can park your bike. You can see all parking locations in the Lyft app.

You will continue to be charged per minute until the bike is returned to a designated location and the ride is ended in the app.

Failure to return a bike to a designated parking location will result in the following penalties:

  • 1st offense: warning
  • 2nd offense: $10 fine
  • 3rd offense: $25 fine
  • 4th offense: account suspension for one month
