Student Bus Operator | Apply Here
This position is responsible for safely operating UGA buses on campus and serving the students, staff, and faculty who ride our systems daily. Pay starts at $16.00 per hour, and paid training for a Commercial Driver’s License with a Class B Passenger Endorsement is provided. Regular wage increases begin as soon as training is completed.

This position is responsible for the end-of-day transportation fleet detailing that supports Campus Transit Operations.

Responsible for fueling Diesel buses, dispensing Diesel Exhaust Fluid (DEF), plugging in and monitoring electric buses, and performing basic cleaning maintenance.

Responsible for driving a van carrying fewer than 15 passengers and operating paratransit vehicles.

Bus & Van Operators
The minimum requirements for bus and van operators include:
- Must be enrolled at UGA
- 18 years of age or older
- Holds at least a Class “C” License
- Safe driving record
- Must have at least two academic years remaining at UGA (for bus operators)
Examples of disqualifying violations include (within the past 3 years):
- Speeding ticket 15+ mph
- Accident with citation
- DUI
- Failure to appear / missed court date
Transportation and Parking Services requires pre-employment drug screening for drivers in accordance with USDOT Federal Motor Carrier Safety regulations.
