Thursday, May 8, 2025:
Buses will operate on a reduced service schedule on Thursday, May 8. Carlton Street, between Sanford Drive and D.W. Brooks Drive near Stegeman Coliseum, will close to vehicle traffic beginning at 7:00 a.m., and buses will detour around this closure.
At 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 8, the Gillis bridge, located along Sanford Drive, will close to vehicle and pedestrian traffic, and buses will detour around this closure. The Gillis Bridge will reopen on Saturday, May 10.
The following routes will be impacted by this detour:
UGA Campus Routes:
- BH – Bulldog Housing
- NSC – North South Connector
- PM – Prince Milledge
ACC Transit Routes:
- Route 9
- Route 12
- Route 14
- Route 26
Passengers at stops affected by these closures should catch the bus at Physics or Tucker Hall. Vet Med and Riverbend Connector buses will operate their regular route until additional road closures take effect for the end of ceremonies in Stegeman Coliseum. Passengers should catch the bus at East Campus Village during this detour. Visit routes.uga.edu for the latest information. Passengers should expect longer trip times and may need to transfer buses to reach their final destination.

The following routes will be impacted by this detour:

ACC Transit Routes:

Passengers at Tate Center and Memorial Hall should board the bus at Psychology/Journalism.
Passengers at the Physics stops should board buses at Rutherford Hall.
Bulldog Housing passengers at Correll Hall should board an East Campus Shuttle, Prince-Milledge, or North South Connector bus to connect at Rutherford Hall.

Stadium Shuttles:
Shuttles to Sanford Stadium will begin at 5:15 pm on May 9, and will operate for one hour after the ceremony has ended. Visit commencement.uga.edu for more information on parking and shuttles.
