Current Planning Projects

Approved Service Changes – Effective June 4, 2026

To improve system connectivity, reliability, and campus mobility, UGA Transportation & Parking Services will implement changes to four (4) Campus Transit System routes effective June 4, 2026. Changes have been developed in coordination with the Student Government Association in response to student feedback and operational data to meet the evolving needs of the campus community.

  • The B – Main Campus line has been changed to route northbound via Carlton Street. The bus will no longer use Cedar Street and will instead serve all stops along Carlton Street after leaving ECV. The route will also serve the Intramural Fields complex during the Fall and Spring semesters. However, like the A – Central East line, the B Line will NOT go to the Intramural Deck or Lot E01 during the summer.
  • The M – Milledge line will have a stop added at Lumpkin Street and Smith Street on the northbound side of the road. However, in response to public feedback, the proposed realignment of the M Line to reverse the direction of travel around Myers Quad will not be implemented. The route will retain the existing route around Myers Quad.
  • The L – East Side Limited line has been extended to serve the Veterinary Medical Center and Lot E26 East Side Park & Ride. The L Line will no longer serve the Intramural Deck or Lot E01. Passengers should use the A or B Line for service to all main campus destinations from the Recreational Sports Complex.
  • The V – Vet Med line was modified to extend service to the Green Acres Shopping Center and the future UGA College of Nursing. Most ACC Transit stops along College Station Road have also been added. See the route profile below for more details on stop locations.

6/4/2026 Service Change FAQs

Why is TPS changing bus routes again?

All transit systems, including UGA’s campus transit system, regularly adjust routes and schedules to meet the changing needs of the communities they serve. The route adjustments taking effect June 4 are designed to increase service frequency, improve efficiency, and expand access to campus destinations. The adjustments will result in:

  • Longer routes that serve more destinations.
  • Fewer overlapping routes.
  • Higher bus frequency.
  • Improved connectivity between commuter lots and campus.

Are you reducing bus service?

No! Bus service is expanding. Starting June 4, there will be:

  • More buses operating on weekdays.
  • Service to new destinations such as the Kroger on College Station Road.
  • Increased service to commuter parking lots.

What about the Intramural Parking Deck?

Service frequency to the Intramural Fields is increasing overall and will allow commuter
students to get further into campus without transferring buses. While the L Line is no longer serving that area, more buses than ever will serve these stops on the A Line and new B Line, better integrating the Intramural Fields into the broader campus network.

What about Cedar Street and Science/Ag Hill?

The A Line will continue serving Cedar Street with frequent, all-day service. A Line staffing and service will be closely monitored, and we will adjust the route if needed. We will continue taking student concerns into consideration after implementation.

What improvements are being made to help commuter students?

We are enhancing service to commuter lots to reduce travel times. Changes will include:

  • Direct service from park-and-ride lots to central campus.
  • An updated L route that provides nonstop service to Lot E23 College Station Park & Ride in the morning and afternoon.
  • Increased service frequency along College Station Road.

Will these routes change again if problems come up?

Yes, if needed. Over the next year, we will closely monitor route performance and rider feedback, adjusting where appropriate. The purpose of these changes is to make travel easier based on rider needs. We promise we are watching how the buses are running and listening to the feedback we receive from students.
